Ken Holton, PE

Ken Holton

Technical Consultant

Ken Holton, P.E. became a Technical Consultant at Pavement Technology, Inc. in 2015. As a Professional Engineer, he has dedicated more than 35 years of his career to roles in Operations and Asset Management. 

Holding a degree in Environmental Engineering from the University of Florida, Mr. Holton is committed to finding sustainable and cost-effective solutions. During his 24-year tenure as a municipal engineer, he managed an extensive network and earned recognition for implementing a comprehensive pavement management program that included preventive maintenance, recycling, and reconstruction. He contributed to the development of the PAVER pavement management software and was specially acknowledged for these achievements. 

Mr. Holton is actively involved in the American Public Works Association and the National Center for Pavement Preservation. He is a founding member of the Pavement Preservation Councils in Florida, North Carolina, and South Carolina, and was invited to serve as a contributing author for the update of the American Public Works Association’s Roadway Maintenance Guide. 

Mr. Holton serves as a Technical Consultant at Pavement Technology, Inc., where he values learning from the achievements of others and sharing his own experiences, while delivering established technologies for sustainable solutions. 

Dave Helm

With a career spanning more than four decades, Dave Helm has been a cornerstone of Pavement Technology Inc. since 1981, helping establish Reclamite as a trusted solution across the pavement preservation industry. His dedication, integrity, and consistent leadership set the standard for generations of sales professionals, making it easier for others to succeed by following the path he helped preserve. Dave’s impact extends far beyond sales—shaping relationships, trust, and long-term success for clients and colleagues alike. Outside of work, his greatest passions are flying and spending time with his grandchildren. Dave is also proudly celebrating 50 years of marriage with his beautiful wife, Chris—a testament to the same commitment and values that have defined both his personal and professional life.

Chris Evers

Technical Representative

Chris Evers is a Technical Representative with Pavement Technology Inc. a company he joined in 2012. He also serves as the Executive Coordinator of the Florida Pavement Preservation Council (FPPC). He has 30 years of experience in the heavy highway construction industry. Chris has been involved in all facets of the Asphalt Industry from binder supplier to contractor – consultant to association leader. He is the Past President of the American Public Works Association (APWA) Florida Chapter where he founded the Public Works Director Roundtable. As an active educator for the public works industry, he has spoken at over 60 conferences, is the author of 32 magazine articles on Public Works and Pavement Preservation and produced over 50 hours of recorded webinars through Florida LTAP and FPPC. He has been honored with APWA Florida Chapter Awards such as Young Leader of the Year – 2008, Ben Pratt Award – 2015, Member of the Year Award – 2019 and Orange Heart Award – 2025. APWA National bestowed Chris with their highest honor, Top Ten Public Works Leader of 2023. Chris is married with 17-year-old twins and lives in Vero Beach, FL. Also known as “Mr. Pavement”, Chris founded the rap super group, Public Works-a-Lot. 

John Calvert

John has worked for PTI for over 23 years since joining them in 2003.  He retired from the City of Oak Ridge as Public Works Division Manager after 28 years of service.  He is a APWA Lifetime Member of 32 years and was named APWA Public Works Leadership Fellow (PWLF) in 2012. 

He founded and directed the Tennessee Public Works Institute in 2003 and served as Director for 18 years.  It continues today and has held over 70 three-day schools attended by 1400+ public works employees from over 80 agencies from across the state. 

He has studied pavements for over 40 years and has concentrated on Pavement Preservation and maintenance and providing education to local and state agencies across the nation.  He has written and presented courses on Pavement Preservation, Maintenance and Rehabilitation for various LTAP offices, the National Center for Pavement Preservation and APWA. 

Zack Helm

Zack Helm

Technical Representative

Zack Helm is a Technical Representative for Pavement Technology, Inc., with over 17 years of experience in pavement preservation. He works closely with municipalities and Departments of Transportation across Ohio, Tennessee, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia to implement asphalt rejuvenation strategies that extend pavement life and optimize maintenance budgets. 

Prior to joining PTI, Zack spent six years with Strawser Construction, a Colas company, where he educated public agencies on a wide range of preservation techniques including crack sealing, micro surfacing, and cape seals. His career has been driven by a passion for helping engineers and public works professionals manage infrastructure networks under tight financial constraints. 

Mike Durante

Vice President, Finance and Strategic Planning

Michael P. Durante is Vice President, Finance and Strategic Planning for Pavement Technology, Inc. (PTI). The company, founded by the author’s grandfather, Michael G. Durante, and father, Colin M. Durante, in 1972, helped bring to public works professionals America’s first maltene-replacement asphalt rejuvenation technology. Today, PTI is applying its pavement preservation experience and knowledge of sustainable technologies to life-extending asphalt and concrete preservation solutions, including products to reduce the pollution caused by vehicle exhaust emissions. A frequent author pertaining to economic and environmental sustainability, Durante holds degrees in finance and economics from Vanderbilt University and the University of Oxford.
